What is the Atlantic Soccer League?
Atlantic Soccer League president, Dewan Bader, announced that a new boy’s regional league sanctioned
by US Club Soccer began play in November 2010. The ASL announced an initial acceptance of 14 high
profile clubs to participate in its inaugural season of play. Serving U-14 to U-17 (expanding to U-13
in 2013-2014) teams from clubs up and down the East Coast, the ASL promises to provide top level
competition, facilities and exposure for college-bound players from elite level clubs. "We are very
excited about the initial member clubs and the interest from elite clubs that are looking to provide the
proper environment for their players and teams. The timing is right for this league and the ASL product
will be second to none" said Bader.
Mission Statement
To provide top level clubs in the East Coast region a high quality league (boys & girls) in a showcase
format that has significant games, limits expenses, and provides a platform for collegiate recruiting. In
addition, ASL will create a scouting program to identify the top players and will promote those players
through the league website and the regional and national media.
Specific Goals
(1) Provide clubs an alternative route to the Development Academy that has both significant games
and limits travel expenses.
(2) Provide our players with events that maximize college exposure and continue development.
Many clubs are currently participating in traditional tournaments and leagues that are no longer
the top attended events by college coaches. The ASL will provide appealing events for colleges
to identify and assess all of our clubs High School aged players at every event.
(3) Create a scouting program to identify and highlight the top players in the ASL.2012-13 ASL EVENTS

Tryouts and Guest Playing

Players interested in joining a Freestate ASL team should contact the team coach to request a tryout.
Tryouts are ongoing throughout the year.
Guest Playing
ASL rules permit up to two guest players each team for ASL events. Please contact the team coach to
request an opportunity to guest play.
