Freestate Soccer Fun Day
May 10th - Queen Anne School
Please join Freestate Soccer in its first Annual SOCCER FUN DAY on May 10, 2008 at Queen Anne School, 14111 Oak Grove Rd. Upper Marlboro, MD 20775.
 
Our Fun Day program will provide you and your children with a Fun Day of soccer and games. Starting Time: 10:00 AM (Look for the Registration Station)  All players are welcome.
 
Who: Boys and Girls, Ages 6 through 10.
 
Cost: $10 per child for 4 vs 4 Tournament ; Skill’s Competition no charge.
 
The Soccer Fun Day is a two Part Program:
. 
A.) 10:00 AM: Soccer competition (5 stations). Top three in each age group are the winners.
  1. Speed Dribble
  2. Short passing onto wall
  3. Heading into goal 
  4. Long instep passes
  5. Penalty shooting Champion
All competition should be finished by 12:00 PM, followed by the Award Ceremony at 12:15 PM.
 
B.) 12:30 PM: 4 v 4 Tournament
 
This tournament will be conducted using a "Dutch Tournament" Format.  Players will register individually rather than with an established team. Each player will play a series (at least 5) small-sided (3v3 or 4v4) games with randomly assigned teammates that will change with each game played.  See "Player Rankings & Awards," in the Rules for information on scores and standings.
 
Maximum 60 teams

Skill Station 1
SPEED DRIBBLE
Objective: Start at the “Start” and follow the course. The direction is shown. Dribble the ball through the sticks, pass the ball against the wall and after receiving dribble through the gate around the two cones and with the instep, pass the ball through the 1 yard goal, move left or right of the posts and retrieve the ball before crossing the finish line.

Skill Station 2
Short Passing on to wall
Objective: Player has to play the ball with the inside of the foot against the 15’ high wall for 30 seconds.

Skill Station 3
Heading into Goal
Objective: A helper, standing in the marked spaces next to the goal, will throw the ball with both hands to the player to head the ball.

Long Instep Flighted Ball
Objective: Player has to play a long flighted ball with the instep into the square.

Penalty Shooting Champion
Objective: All Players shoot from the Penalty Spot or 10 yards point.
