2011-2012 Season
The Freestate Real is coached by Patrick Noel, Co-Director of Coaching for the Freestate Soccer Alliance. Coach Noel is a former Maryland ODP Staff Coach and has coached several teams to Maryland State Cup Championships. During the 2010-2011 year, the Real competed in the NCSL Division 1 League, Atlantic Soccer League (finishing 6-5-1), CASL Showcase (NC), and Potomac Academy Showcase. Last year, the Real finished as Maryland State Cup Semifinalists and as well as finalists at the 2010 Potomac Memorial Day Tournament.
Freestate Soccer Alliance serves as an inaugural member of the Atlantic Soccer League for U15 to U18 boys. This league will enable high school-aged teams to play in a league format at selected events which lead to a championship showcase. League benefits include guaranteed entry into all events, all games played at premier tournaments on quality surfaces, attractive games for college coaches to identify players, and a format of one game a day limits injuries and keeps games at a high level. Finally, this league will serve to improve the development, exposure, and competition of players who are not best served by the US Development Academy. The team is continuing to identify high level and motivated players to supplement the roster for the 2011-2012 season. We do anticipate having enough players to add a second team in this age-group. 2011-2012 Tryouts will be held on June 1 and June 6 from 8:30 to 10:00 at Murtaugh #2. Mores sessions may be as added. For directions (click here).
