Patrick Noel joins the Freestate Diplomats as Head Coach.
Tryout dates for the Freestate Diplomats, a rising U-12 boys soccer team for boys born on or after August 1, 1996, will be held on:
May 28 5:30 to 7:00 Murtaugh #2
May 30 5:30 to 7:00 Huston
June 4 5:30 to 7:00 Murtaugh #2
June 6 5:30 to 7:00 Huston
The team is currently in U-11 NCSL Division 2 after winning the U-11 NCSL Division 3 title this Fall. This past year the Diplomats were also Finalists at the Raleigh Shootout (NC) and the Freestate Spring Breakout. The team also went undefeated at the Triangle Friendlies (NC) and won the U-11 Championship during Winter Session #1 at the Soccer Dome. The team is coached by Patrick Noel, Co-Director of Coaching for Freestate Soccer and Director of Noel Soccer Programs. As the head coach of the Freestate Titans for the past 7 years, Patrick lead the Titans to tournament championships at numerous tournaments including the Raleigh Shootout, Bethesda Tournament, Baltimore Bays Labor Day, and Columbia Memorial Day events. They also were NCSL Division One Champions and finished in third place in the 2006 Region 1 Premier League. The group had 15 players make the MD Olympic Development Team, 6 players have been named to the Region 1 Olympic Development Program, and 3 players were invited to the US Youth National Team U-14 Program. The Titans are also 5-time MD State Cup Finalists and the 2005, MD U-13 MD State Cup Champions and Region 1 Semifinalists.
This Campbell/Noel coaching combination has proven to be a winner. Having worked together over the past five years, the duo has helped develop a high number of State, Regional, and National Youth level players and have led both boys and girls teams to great success. They coached the Bethesda Dragons Girls (1998-2003) and Bethesda United Boys (2003-Present), won four USYSA Region I titles earning them a trip three times to the USYSA National Championship final four, won five MD State Cups, and have captured the Jefferson Cup, Potomac, Bethesda and Disney Showcase tournament championships. They coach and motivate players to pursue excellence on and off the field and inspire players to constantly raise their own standards of performance.
